Salvation Army’s call for help
Eagan, MN – K2 Logistics, a full service logistics company and industry leader focused on supply chain management has gotten into the spirit of the holiday season by donating transportation services to the Salvation Army’s annual Toy Shop program.

K2 and CW Logistics will volunteer their time and donate services to pick up and transport more than 120 bins of toys from various metro retail locations including Wal Mart, Sam’s Club and Best Buy. All toys collected between December 1, 2008 and the week before Christmas will be transported by K2 and CW Logistics to the Minneapolis and St. Paul Armories for distribution to needy children.
“This is a great opportunity to serve the community and give back. As a company we enjoy volunteering our time for a great cause,” said Tom Lehmann, chief strategy officer of K2 Logistics. “Working with the Salvation Army, we are delighted to partner with Best Buy, Wal Mart and Sam’s Club to support such a tremendous charitable endeavor.
The Salvation Army has been serving the Twin Cities since 1886 and from the early days the organization has provided toys for children. Today, the Salvation Army toy shops in the Twin Cities serve 14,000 families representing over 48,000 children in need.
“Partnering with our sister company, CW Logistics, we are delighted to be able to provide assistance to help in the collection of toys across the metropolitan area,” said Lehmann. “I am especially proud of our team members here in the Twin Cities. Their efforts set a great example for the rest of the company nationwide.”
